Project Manager Consultant
Location: Sacramento, CA (Onsite/Hybrid Potential)
Employment Type: Full-Time Consulting Engagement

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a high-profile enterprise modernization initiative. This role will be responsible for project planning, governance support, stakeholder coordination, risk management, implementation readiness, and overall delivery oversight.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned project leader with a proven track record managing complex technology initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and delivery plans.
  • Facilitate governance meetings and executive-level project reviews.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate activities across business, technical, and vendor teams.
  • Support release planning, implementation readiness, and operational transition efforts.
  • Track project performance and provide status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Active PMP Certification (Required).
  • 5+ years of project management experience leading complex IT projects.
  • 3+ years in a project leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience managing:

o Enterprise technology projects
o Digital transformation initiatives
o Modernization programs
o Multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong expertise in:

o Project planning and scheduling
o Governance and reporting
o Risk and issue management
o Release coordination
o Implementation readiness
o Executive communication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting government or public sector projects.
  • Familiarity with project governance frameworks and large-scale modernization initiatives.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Hybrid, or traditional project delivery methodologies.
