Manager of Information Systems

Position Summary

The Manager of Information Systems is responsible for leading the development, administration, and continuous improvement of the organization's ERP environment while overseeing IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise data management.

This position provides both strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise, managing a small IT team while partnering with business leaders and external vendors to ensure technology solutions support operational efficiency, business growth, and information security.


Key Responsibilities

ERP Systems Management

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the organization's ERP system utilizing the Intersystems IRIS platform
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify business needs and implement software enhancements that improve operational efficiency
  • Manage ERP system updates, enhancements, and ongoing support
  • Prepare and maintain ERP system documentation, technical procedures, and user documentation

IT Infrastructure & Security

  • Oversee enterprise IT infrastructure, including:
  • Network administration
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data management
  • System administration
  • Manage Linux and Intersystems IRIS system updates and maintenance
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee the organization's disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Ensure IT systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable to support business operations

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a small IT team supporting system administration and software development
  • Establish priorities and coordinate departmental activities
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused IT environment
  • Support employee development through coaching and technical guidance

Business Systems & EDI

  • Support customer onboarding activities involving:
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
  • Labeling requirements
  • Customer documentation
  • System integration
  • Ensure business systems effectively support operational and customer requirements

Vendor & Project Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key technology vendors and service providers
  • Negotiate vendor agreements and technology purchases to maximize value and control costs
  • Coordinate vendor support activities and technology implementations
  • Manage IT-related projects from planning through implementation

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain technical documentation, system procedures, and operational standards
  • Support data integrity, cybersecurity, and IT governance initiatives
  • Ensure technology systems align with organizational policies and industry best practices


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience working with the Intersystems technology stack, including:
  • Cache
  • IRIS
  • 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments
  • 2+ years of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) experience
  • Previous experience leading technical teams or IT operations

Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience with Intersystems Cache and IRIS platforms
  • Strong understanding of:
  • ERP systems
  • Linux administration
  • Networking
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data management
  • Experience supporting ERP enhancements and business system integrations
  • Strong technical documentation skills
