IPS is seeking a motivated, self-driven, and detail-oriented IT Manager to join our client's team.


The candidate will be an integral part of the global team responsible for maintaining the global network, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and delivering support across 6 global offices. The individual must be able to work well independently as well as in a team setting. In addition to being part of the global IT team, this role will be responsible for providing on-site end-user support to all users based in the firm's San Francisco and Menlo Park offices.


A highly skilled, customer-service-oriented individual with experience providing top-tier end-user support to high-touch individuals in a fast-paced environment would be the ideal candidate. The firm’s IT infrastructure is constantly evolving, and a successful candidate must be able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies. Superior problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical skills are a requirement.


This position will be based in San Francisco and will be expected to work from the office 5 days per week, with occasional flexibility to work remotely. Occasional local travel to the firm's Menlo Park office (3-4 days/month) will be required.


Candidate Profile

  • 4-7 years of experience
  • 2-year or 4-year college degree
  • Experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Financial Services or other Professional Services
  • Authorized to work in the US


Primary Responsibilities

  • Supporting the firm's core cloud applications (Office 365, Box.com, Okta)
  • Provide end-user/desktop support
  • Managing systems updates and security patching of client and server systems
  • System Administration, including managing firewall policies and configurations, DNS, and routing/switching configurations
  • Work with the IT team and business users to support the technical initiatives of the firm


Desired Skills

  • Excellent written documentation skills (proficiency in English, good grammatical skills) and experience producing user-facing as well as IT documentation
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-technical end users, both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to view all problems and proposed resolutions through a security lens
  • Experience managing Windows 11 in a corporate Active Directory environment
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office 365 and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
  • Proficient with hardware troubleshooting of both PC (Lenovo) and Mac systems
  • Experience supporting Mac OS X in an Active Directory environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including networking, security, and administration of Windows Servers running in Azure
  • Understanding of networking, from both an operational and security perspective (TCP/IP, DNS, routing/switching, wireless, firewall policies)
  • Active Directory Administration (Moves, Adds, Changes, Certificate Administration, Group Policy)
  • Experience supporting MS Outlook in an Office 365 environment, including an understanding of Exchange Online administration
  • Experience in mitigating, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats and the use of EDR tools
  • iOS / Android Mobile Device Administration through Intune
