IT Field Van DriverThe IT Van Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient transportation and delivery of IT hardware equipment to various locations. This role combines driving responsibilities with basic IT support functions, requiring a blend of technical skills, customer service, and logistical expertise.Deliveries:The Driver makes deliveries and pick-ups from a number of offices split between the San Jose and Mountain View locations.They will also need to update the management tools i.e., Hardware Request Tracker and Buganizer per delivery to ensure assets are properly trackedThe specifications of where to the delivered and when to be delivered will be notified to the Driver through On Job training.Detailed hands-on will be provided to the DriverPick-up and delivery bins can be very heavy, so the Driver will need to be physically able to move bins upwards of 50 lbs alone.Lifting assistance at the delivery locations is rarely available.Key Responsibilities:Safely drive company vans to transport IT hardware equipment, including computers, peripherals, and other devices, to designated locations.Ensure timely and secure delivery of equipment according to scheduled routes or as directed by the IT team.Hardware Support:Assist in the installation, setup, and configuration of IT hardware equipment at client sites or within company premises.Provide basic troubleshooting and technical support for hardware-related issues, including diagnosing and resolving common problems.Inventory Management:Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including equipment received, dispatched, and returned.Perform regular inventory checks to ensure adequate stock levels and report any discrepancies to the IT department.Customer Service:Interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders during equipment deliveries and installations.Address client inquiries and provide assistance in a courteous and helpful manner, ensuring a positive customer experience.Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating company vehicles.Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on vans to ensure they are in proper working condition.Qualifications:Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Previous experience in driving, preferably in a commercial or corporate setting (2 years +)Basic understanding of IT hardware components and peripherals. (1 year +)Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.Ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely.Attention to detail and organizational skills.Flexibility in working hours and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in hardware support or technical roles. Familiarity with inventory management systems. Technical certifications related to IT hardware support.
