Technicians are responsible for supporting the configuration, hardware/software support, of our clients, computer or computer-related equipment and components.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms installation and configuration of new IT hardware including break-fix and new hardwarerequest as well as deployment of new facilities.Performs decommissioning and removal of retired IT assets.Utilizes asset management system to maintain accurate IT inventory and tracking.Documents, tracks, and monitors issues and tasks using the IT ticketing system.Works with third party vendors to address technical needs including cabling, carrier network connectivity, VoIP, and copier/printer services at new and existing locations.Troubleshooting of computer workstation hardware including peripherals.Technical understanding of software and operating systems.Installs software, modifies settings, and replaces hardware as required to resolve the incident.Resolves desktop and network issues to restore service.Ensures troubleshooting and resolutions are accomplished using industry best practices, resolvestechnical issues, ensures issues resolved, and documents installed configuration.Makes updates to the knowledge base by creating documentation describing issues encountered,their resolutions, and works on the development of processes and documentation to improve theability of the service desk to detect and resolve problems.Call clients' vendors for warranty and troubleshooting issues.Removal of viruses/malwareNON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSOther duties as assigned.Will participate in a minimum of 40 hours in-service education per year.RequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMust be 21 years of age.Must pass a drug screen and TB Skin Test.Submit to a Criminal History and DFPS History Check.Pass a Centralized Background Check through the Texas Health and Human Services Eligibilityand any background checks deemed to be necessary.Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Lifting requirements of 50 lbs.Associate's Degree or equivalent certificate.CompTIA A+ certificationCompTIA Network + certificationhighly preferredCCNA highly preferredMust have a minimum or 2-5 years or combination of education and experience in IT roles such ashelpdesk and field support, installation, termination, and testing of network cabling.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESExperience supporting PC Hardware and software in a client/server environmentAdvanced technical troubleshooting skills and experienceStrong analytical skillsExperience with various mobile devices (iOS, Android)Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows file sharing and permissionsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and other server technologiesHardware experience with peripherals, scanners and mass storage devicesAdvanced knowledge of small and medium business LAN and WAN network technologies such asrouters, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPN, NAS, etc.Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office ApplicationsExperience documenting problem and resolution of support calls as well as maintaining aknowledge base of processes and procedures.Knowledge of telecom connectivity and low voltage cabling.Familiarity with network concepts including physical connectivity, wireless, and TCP/IPconfigurationStrong Customer Service SkillsDetail oriented and highly organizedExcellent critical thinking skills with attention to detailWorking knowledge of business and data intelligence softwareWe're an equal opportunity employer.
