General Description OF Responsibilities
Supports and maintains all corporate IT business systems including but not limited to ERP, MRP, WMS, EDI, BI, & WebServes as the point of contact to internal customers for all business systems and applicationsPerforms complex systems analysisIdentifies inadequate or inefficient systems and recommends alternatives to increase efficiencyProvides leadership in recommending technical solutions to functional business challenges to effectively meet strategic business objectivesServes as the project manager and coordinates the utilization of all IT resources for all business application development lifecycle activitiesComposes and maintains project plans for all business application development lifecycle activitiesComposes and maintains functional design documents for the purpose of designing new applications or enhancing existing applicationsComposes and maintains technical design documents that software developers will use when programming solutionsConducts and manages all testing activities for all business application development lifecycle activitiesManages and participates in training users on new and/or modified applicationsCoordinates and manages all software development change managementParticipates in the planning, design, and implementation of all business systems at new SMP facilities or business unitsProvides business knowledge and technical leadership to effectively collaborate with the software developers and the user communityConducts feasibility studies and helps determine economic justification of all proposed IT projectsMaintains all required corporate IT SOX compliance documentation for business analyst activities
work experience requirements
Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing business processes, understanding business needs, and providing technical solutions to specific business challengesThorough knowledge of all major business functional areas (Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Pricing, HR, and IT). Prior role in one or more non-IT functions preferred.3 - 5 years working for a company in the manufacturing and distribution spaceExperience working with a tier 1 ERP system (Oracle, SAP, or JD Edwards). JD Edwards preferredFunctional knowledge of MRP theory & forecastingExperience with warehouse management systemsFunctional knowledge of EDI and other e-commerce solutionsExperience with structured query language (SQL) through query writing and/or ad hoc reportingFunctional Knowledge of Business Intelligence TechnologiesFunctional Knowledge of Web & Mobile App Development TechnologiesExposure to software change management practicesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to establish and maintain positive relationships with non-IT personnel at all levels in the businessAbility to effectively create and maintain detailed application design specifications based on functional business needsAbility to effectively create and maintain detailed technical design specifications for use by software developersAbility to conduct testing and training activities on business applicationsStrong organizational skills with the ability to execute multiple project plans against strict deadlinesFunctional knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Programming experience is a plus.Functional experience with business software implementations and integrationsAbility to understand business concepts and processes at both the macro and micro levelsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to adhere to all SOX software change management requirementsAbility to use Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Project, Visio)Less than 10% travel requiredKnowledge of Pricing Systems is a plusFinancial analysis skills are a plus
