An Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage for landscaping, agricultural, and turf management purposes. The technician will diagnose issues, monitor system performance, and collaborate with team members to provide high-quality solutions. Out of town travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair (1–3 years).
  • Vocational training or Certification in irrigation systems, landscaping, or a related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of various irrigation system types (e.g., drip, sprinkler, or micro-irrigation). Familiarity with both residential and commercial irrigation systems.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems and components, such as valves, timers, controllers, and piping.
  • Capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment or materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing irrigation system issues, such as leaks, clogs, or electrical problems in controllers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members to explain irrigation needs, issues, and solutions.

Responsibilities:  (These duties are not just limited to the above; they will also include any area where Miller Creek needs assistance.)

  • Installation:
    • Plan and install irrigation systems, including sprinklers, valves, pipes, and control systems.
    • Lay out and connect water supply lines, valves, and timers to meet client specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Perform regular inspections to ensure system functionality and efficiency.
    • Troubleshoot and repair damaged or malfunctioning systems, including broken pipes, clogged nozzles, and electrical components.
    • Adjust and calibrate system settings for optimal performance.
    • Perform Irrigation Starts up, Perform Irrigation Shut Downs.  
  • Monitoring and Testing:
    • Test irrigation systems to ensure even water distribution and compliance with project requirements.
    • Monitor water usage and adjust systems to prevent overwatering or water waste.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Communicate with clients to understand their irrigation needs and provide recommendations.
    • Provide training or guidance to clients on system usage and basic troubleshooting.
    • Coordinate with Clients for access to systems for Start Ups and/ or Shut Downs.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure all work adheres to local codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
    • Follow safety protocols when handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.


Job Type: 
  • Full-time (Seasonal) 40 hours/week

Salary: 
  • $23-25/hour 

Benefits:
  • Health & Dental Insurance ( Must qualify under full time status)

Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
