Primary Purpose: Maintains and repairs irrigation systems including replacing valves, switches, PVC lines, control panels, and other plumbing issues.

Duties and Responsibilities • Turn irrigation systems on and off as designated. • Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers. • May assist in various maintenance activities as required. • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety. • Performs plumbing repairs, as required. • Winterize Systems as needed. • Establishes spare parts stock. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. • Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operating timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers. • Ability to respond to plumbing issues. • Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems. • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Conditions of Employment • A valid Texas drivers license will be required if a motor vehicle must be operated on the job. • Other • Maintain confidentiality. • Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor and/or Superintendent. • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. • Must be present regularly in person.
