Irrigation Technician (New Construction + Commercial) — Southwest Florida

Pay:$18–$22/hr (based on experience) + overtime as applicable
Schedule: Mon–Fri, occasional Saturdays as needed
Role overview
We’re hiring an Irrigation Technician to support primarily new construction irrigation installs, with some commercial work mixed in. You’ll install systems to plan/spec, keep production moving, and make sure systems are clean, functional, and ready for turnover.
Responsibilities
- Install complete irrigation systems for new construction (PVC mainline/laterals, manifolds, valves, heads/rotors, drip)
- Set and program controllers (Hunter/Rain Bird or similar) and verify proper zone operation
- Perform start-ups, pressure checks, coverage adjustments, and final punch/turnover items
- Troubleshoot and repair install-related issues (leaks, valve problems, low pressure, coverage gaps, controller/wiring issues)
- Read basic irrigation/site plans and follow layout/spec requirements
- Coordinate with foreman/PM on materials, parts, and daily priorities
- Maintain job site cleanliness and follow safety procedures
- Help document work completed (photos/notes) when needed
Requirements
- 2+ years irrigation install experience (new construction preferred)
- Comfortable with PVC work, fittings, glue/primer, and clean installs
- Working knowledge of basic irrigation electrical (valves, solenoids, timers/controllers, wiring)
- Familiar with common components (valves, heads, drip, controllers)
- Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation to get to job sites
- Able to work outdoors in Florida conditions and lift 50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or with a crew
Nice to have (not required)
- Commercial irrigation experience
- Backflow exposure
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
