This is not a traditional office role, this is meaningful, community-based work where you help bridge gaps in care, build trust, and connect people to the services they need to stay safe and stable in the community. This is a proactive, prevention focused position, your work directly reduces emergency interventions and improves long-term outcomes for the community.
What Youll Do
Partner with CIT-trained officers to provide in-home and community-based screenings, crisis counseling, and early intervention.
Identify individuals at risk and proactively engage them in treatment to prevent escalation.
Support individuals and families navigating:
Mental health and substance use challenges
Family, parenting, and relationship concerns
Stress, financial hardship, aging-related issues, and more.
Respond to referrals from law enforcement, schools, and providers, focusing on high-risk individuals with repeated emergency calls.
Coordinate care with law enforcement, behavioral health providers, and community resources.
Help ensure individuals dont "fall through the cracks" by maintaining ongoing engagement and follow-up.
Deliver clinical screenings and services while representing the program in the community.

Masters degree in counseling or related field.
Experience working with mental health and/or substance use disorders (adults and children).
Crisis intervention experience preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, community-based environment.
Comfort managing high-stress situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
Knowledge of local social service resources (or ability to quickly build it).
Valid FL drivers license and safe driving record.
Ability to pass Level II Background Screening and drug test.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and 12-hour shifts.
Basic computer proficiency and strong documentation skills.
