  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Coordinates the Human Research Protections Programs (HRPP) at Samaritan Health Services including SHS Regional Institutional Review Board (IRB), Research Conflict of Interest, and Research Integrity programs systemwide. Reviews IRB submissions and maintains appropriate documentation of active studies. Oversees HRPP training for investigators, IRB members, and staff. Monitors regulatory changes and provides guidance on policy updates to maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional research requirements.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The Office of Academic Affairs provides leadership for Samaritan Health Services academic departments including post-graduate training programs, continuing medical education and library services; and works in collaboration with those supporting the educational needs of our medical staff. The office is responsible for academic strategic planning, faculty recruitment and development, course evaluation, academic budget planning and management, development and implementation of academic policies and assessment of educational resources.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent healthcare experience required.
    • Six (6) months of clinical research experience required.
    • Experience and/or training with MS Office and database applications required.

    • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.
    • Business Writing - Strong business writing skills, including the ability to professionally communicate clinical content in written documentation that is easily understood by the end user.
    • Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
    • Time Management- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.
