Job Description and Duties

The Investigative Auditor IV (Specialist) conducts the most complex office and field audits of charitable organizations and fundraising professionals that are subject to the supervision of the Attorney General pursuant to the Supervision of Trustees and Fundraisers for Charitable Purposes Act. Audits are conducted to discover misuse or diversion of charitable assets, and other fiscal abuse and wrongdoing by charitable trustees, and to take corrective action to enforce compliance with applicable law. The position requires working knowledge of an extensive body of laws and regulations relating to charitable corporations, charitable trusts, charitable solicitation, and general accounting and auditing principles and procedures applicable to charities. Investigative and good writing skills are also required.

• This position is located in the Public Rights Division, Charitable Trusts Section, and may be filled in Los Angeles or San Francisco. Please indicate your preferred city in your application.

Special Requirements

• A fingerprint check will be required for those hired from outside of the Department of Justice.
• If you are using education to meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must submit a copy of your transcript or diploma. • Successful completion of a POST certified PC 832 Arrest, Search and Seizure course is required after appointment.
