This position is in the Office of Protective Intelligence Investigations (PII), Directorate of Threat Investigations and Analysis (TIA), Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Department of State.

In this position you will serve as an Investigative Analyst in PII. The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert technical and analytical guidance and support to PII operations worldwide.

Major Duties: Who May Apply: Job Status: Duration Appointment: This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSCs do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years. Conditions of Employment: Education:

Requirements: Qualifications:

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience conducting investigative and protective intelligence operations.
  • Experience developing written product templates.
  • Experience serving as a liaison for law enforcement and interagency counterparts at joint operations centers.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
