Job Title: Inverter Test TechnologistJob Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Inverter Test Technologist to support the development of current and next-generation electrified vehicle traction inverters at the EPIC Power Electronics Laboratory in Allen Park, MI. In this dynamic hands-on role, you will act as a key electromechanical builder-fabricating custom structural test stands and constructing complex physical test setups from engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect critical inverter components, including capacitors, power modules, and busbars.
  • Assemble prototype test samples and instrument them with diagnostic sensors.
  • Build custom low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harnesses.
  • Configure and operate advanced laboratory equipment, including high-voltage testers, thermal chambers, and power cyclers.
  • Troubleshoot experimental setups, perform routine equipment maintenance, and execute safe systematic teardowns.
  • Support day-to-day lab operations through inventory management, shipping and receiving, equipment calibration, and maintaining a safe, highly organized facility.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in wiring harness build, test setup, and fabrication.
  • Ability to read schematics and execute test setup repair and teardown.
  • Experience in diagnostics, mechanical fabrication, and electronics.
  • 3+ years of experience fabricating test fixtures and vehicle wire harness build.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with high-voltage vehicles, PCB assembly, and soldering is preferred.

Work Environment

The role is based in a HV battery and inverter test lab, requiring full-time, on-site presence.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.63 - $39.19/hr.
