### Job Description
Description: Seeking a Materials Assistant to support stockroom and courier functions, such as purchasing, ordering, shipping, and receiving supplies. Picking up and delivering blood, blood components and supplies from mobile drives and donor centers to include runs to local hospitals as needed.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Fulfills supply orders for all KBC departments and locations, providing excellent internal customer service.
Utilizes electronic inventory and ordering system to submit purchase orders and other requests to vendors, and to process transactions for inventory receipt and issue; produces reports as needed.
Maintains accurate records regarding quantity and cost of supplies; and reconciles with accounting applications.
Runs reports and takes daily inventory of stock items to maintain the appropriate par levels of supplies on hand. Responsible for creating new items and obtaining quotes from qualified vendors.
Receives, unloads, unpacks, verifies, and stocks supplies upon arrival in accordance with departmental SOPs. Communicates with vendors on Purchase Order variances, damages, and delayed deliveries.
Ensures that all areas of the organization are properly stocked, and that employees are consistently provided with the supplies necessary to perform their jobs.
Assists with the inventory maintenance and internal distribution of incentives.
Keeps work area neat and organized, including the daily breaking down and disposal of cardboard.
Provides back-up support for other department positions, such as mobile inventory staging.
Follows all rules and directions regarding critical supplies, assists within the General Services department, and performs other duties and special projects/tasks as assigned.
Perform courier duties as assigned. This includes operating a vehicle and fulfilling deliveries and pick-up runs to KBC facilities, blood drive locations, and hospitals.
Completes internal and external delivery and pick-up errands for products and supplies, as needed.

Work Environment: This position regularly involves the following:
Standing and walking for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds consistently.

Occasionally fulfill basic clerical duties (typing/writing).
