We have an exciting opportunity to join Stockroom 101''s Inventory Operations team as an Inventory Specialist supporting the company''s busiest Government Property stockroom. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for working directly within the Government Property database, maintaining accurate inventory and transaction records, and coordinating closely with stockroom personnel to meet customer demand. The position may interface with GA-ASI Program Management Offices, Government Property, and other internal customers as required.

This role may maintain a centralized document control function for accountable transactions and asset visibility; participate in maintaining inputs to inventory systems; review paper and electronic documentation for accuracy; initiate Part Catalog Requests and Discrepant Shipment Reports; and execute required transactions accurately and in a timely manner. This position will participate in monthly RFID inventory operations; support transfer of stock; track shortages; expedite deliveries as required to meet stock-leveling objectives; and rotate duties every two weeks, or as required, to maintain business operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify discrepancies in inbound receipts, outbound shipments, documentation, or database transactions, and assist with timely resolution.
  • Participate in monthly RFID inventory operations and support inventory accuracy requirements.
  • Monitor, track, and report SR101 data accuracy within the GA-ASI Government Property Database.
  • Run daily and monthly SAP reports and reconcile applicable data with the Government Property Management database as required
  • Monitor and assist with resolving calibration and shelf-life expired or missing reporting.
  • Assist with reviewing and processing cataloging requests through GA-ASI Government Property''s established cataloging process.
  • Update data as required in the GA-ASI Government Property Database.
  • May review OnBase and Teamcenter databases for change requests, drawing updates, or supporting documentation.
  • Review, process, and transact retrograde material in support of OEM-level repair within established timelines.
  • Assist with receiving material into the Government Property Database and ensure supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Review cycle count results and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Compile routine inventory reports using appropriate computer systems or hard-copy documents. Maintain planning, transaction, and inventory databases as required.
  • Review frustrated material for documentation discrepancies, cataloging needs, or discrepant shipment requirements. Process catalog requests and Discrepant Shipment Reports through established processes.
  • Assist in the analysis and resolution of obsolete, excess, unplanned, or discrepant inventory conditions. Recommend solutions to ensure requirements are met.
  • Review order requests for accuracy and process orders for requisite material in support of GA-ASI customers.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production planning, the warehouse, Government Property, contracts, engineering, manufacturing, and Program Management Offices as needed to support routing, scheduling, storage, approvals, obsolescence review, BOM changes, and out-of-stock conditions.
  • Assist with investigations and analysis of inventory activities.
  • Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Work in a warehouse environment and safely utilize material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts, as required.
  • May assist with Government Property disposal processing as required.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of related experience in inventory planning and control. Additional education may be substituted in lieu of experience.

  • Must have a general understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles and a working knowledge of computer-based manufacturing systems and MRP.

  • Must be customer focused and possess:

  • the ability to identify and analyze issues and interpret data

  • good organization skills to maintain flow of work within the unit

  • strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interface with all levels of internal employees and to accurately document and report

  • basic knowledge of computer operations, applications, word processing, and spreadsheets

  • The ability to work both independently and in a team, environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
