Job Title – Inventory Specialist

Position Summary

As an Inventory Specialist in our food production environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, minimizing loss, and supporting operations by managing stock movements, cycle counting, and system reconciliations. You will act as a bridge between production, warehouse, quality, and customer service teams to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time—all while safeguarding food safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts on racks and pick faces to reconcile physical inventory to system records
  • Rotate inventory across locations as business needs dictate (e.g. rebalancing stock)
  • Investigate missing or lost inventory, correct records, and reduce shrinkage
  • Process customer returns through systems (SAP, JDA), ensuring proper documentation, disposition, and restocking
  • Support production and FSQA (Food Safety & Quality Assurance) by retrieving product upon request
  • Operate RFID scanning devices to verify license‑plate numbers (LPNs), locate stock, and put away inventory
  • Use iPads, RF scanners, and mobile devices to travel to error locations and make corrections
  • Collect and manage damaged product, collaborate with management/FSQA to determine disposition
  • Reduce waste by training, coaching, and supporting warehouse staff in proper inventory practices
  • Maintain accurate data and perform reconciliations in SAP, JDA, and Outlook (or equivalent systems)
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory processes and reduce cost

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (post‑secondary coursework or certificate in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain (ideally in the food / FMCG / manufacturing sector)
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP / inventory systems, especially SAP and JDA (or equivalent)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using handheld RF scanners, mobile devices, or RFID tools
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to reconcile discrepancies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, and stand for extended periods in a warehouse / production environment
  • Understanding of food safety / FSQA requirements, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and temperature control environments is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or train others (informally) in best practices for inventory handling

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in warehouse / production environment (including Cold environment facility (potential exposure to cold ( cooler ) & Freezer)
  • Frequent walking, climbing, bending, and lifting (up to ~50 lbs or as needed)
  • Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and adherence to safety protocols
  • Occasional evening, weekend, or off‑shift work depending on operational needs
