Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Inventory manager with more than 5 years’ experience to lead design, implementation, and execution of an Inventory Management System supporting over $50M in annual material acquisition, production, and delivery.
Duties Include:
Design and implement an inventory and material management system from zero, creating the processes, standards, and controls required to support a fast-moving, execution-focused organization
Ensure a compliant material management capability that supports broad DoW expectations for accountability, traceability, audit readiness, configuration alignment, and control of government and contractor-managed material
Manage the full design of material flow across the organization, from demand generation and procurement through receipt, storage, traceability, issuance, consumption, and finished goods stocking
Build disciplined, durable systems that create real accountability for material, eliminate ambiguity, and enable fast, accurate decision-making across operations, production, and program execution
Establish the foundational data architecture for the inventory environment, including item master strategy, part numbering, material classifications, location hierarchy, stock status, and traceability logic
Execute continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, failure points, and operational friction early, then aggressively implement solutions that simplify workflows, reduce loss, improve speed, and increase control
Ensure adoption by through stakeholder communication and end user training, and creating a culture of ownership around material control
Requirements:
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for positions requiring a Security Clearance
Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
Required Skills
Worked in manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or another traceability-heavy environment
Worked with ERP/MRP systems and physical warehouse controls
Supported auditability, DoD-style accountability, property/material controls, or regulated quality systems
Preferred Skills
Built or overhauled an inventory/material management system before
Deep understanding of not just how to use inventory systems, but how to architect them
Led cross-functional implementations involving engineering, quality, supply chain, production, and finance
Set up processes for receiving, stock control, traceability, WIP, and finished goods
Physical Requirements
Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecoms/meetings with peers, management
Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to use stairs for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities during travel
This position is expected to be performed only in the state of Alabama.
