The Inventory Management Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and compliant movement of products within Thorne’s Inventory Warehouse Department. This position is responsible for receiving deliveries, relocating materials using forklift, pallet jack, order pickers, or putting up finished goods while strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Operating Schedule:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for leading day to day activities of the Inventory Management department, including fulfilling work orders for production, receiving incoming freight, fulfilling distributor orders for shipping, pulling finished goods to restock pick line and helping achieve Inventory Management goals.
- Works with Inventory Management Supervisor to ensure training and certification programs are current and reviewed on a timely basis (including safety training and forklift certification for applicable employees). Monitors employees’ progress throughout their training to ensure they reach required certification levels in a timely manner.
- Works with Inventory Management Supervisor to ensure accurate information of Thorne inventory, including inventory integrity, cycle counts, inventory reports, inventory transfers and adjustments.
- Responsible for managing the shift activities of their area
- Trains Inventory Management personnel in their job duties and assumes the responsibility of trainer for assigned area.
- Responsible for timely completion of new employee training and training documentation in area assigned.
- Works with Inventory Management Supervisor to ensure the proper maintenance of Inventory Management
equipment and, if necessary, coordinates with maintenance for repairs.
- Must be able to work an entire 8-, 10-, or 12- hour shift, and overtime as assigned, when necessary, in a warehouse environment.
- Must be able to see and read small print.
- Must be able to hear and converse with supervisors and other employees.
- Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, and clean equipment, occasionally grasping with force and using twisting wrist movements.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as circumstances arise during the course of a shift.
- Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted.
- Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment.
- Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively, during an 8-, 10- or 12-hour shift.
- Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively, during an assigned shift.
- Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder while carrying up to 20 pounds of materials.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Minimum High school diploma or GED is required, and four years’ related experience and/or training.
- Employee is able to read and understand at a proficient level. The employee follows instructions, both verbal and written, and communicates effectively with supervisors and fellow employees. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Employee can use the equipment and software required to accomplish the responsibilities of the position. Experience using inventory management software. Must have sufficient data entry skills and be detail oriented to process inventory documentation.
