What You’ll Do
As the Inventory Control & Quality Assurance Manager, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining accurate, auditable, and tightly controlled inventory systems across the facility. Your focus will be ensuring inventory integrity from receipt through storage, movement, and shipment while minimizing shrink, mispicks, discrepancies, and process breakdowns.

While quality and food safety compliance are part of the role, your primary mission is to ensure inventory accuracy, control, traceability, and operational consistency across all warehouse functions.

Core Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Accuracy (Primary Focus)

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve inventory control processes to ensure high accuracy, traceability, and system integrity
  • Lead cycle count programs, variance investigations, and root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies
  • Monitor and reduce shrink, mispicks, damage, and inventory adjustments
  • Ensure accurate inventory movement across receiving, storage, production, and shipping
  • Partner with warehouse leadership to enforce proper SKU handling, labeling, rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and storage standards
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and risk areas, and implement corrective actions
  • Drive accountability for inventory accuracy across warehouse teams through coaching and process reinforcement

Warehouse Execution & Floor Leadership

  • Maintain a strong daily presence on the warehouse floor to validate processes and identify real-time inventory issues
  • Audit receiving, picking, put-away, and shipping activities to ensure compliance with established procedures
  • Provide hands-on coaching to warehouse staff on inventory handling best practices
  • Support operational teams in resolving inventory discrepancies quickly and effectively

Quality & Compliance (Supportive Role)

  • Oversee compliance with food safety and regulatory standards (BRCGS, USDA, FDA, OSHA) as they relate to storage, handling, and inventory conditions
  • Support internal and external audits, including BRCGS certification processes
  • Ensure proper storage conditions and handling practices that maintain product integrity
  • Partner with QA and operations teams to align inventory practices with food safety requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and QA teams to ensure seamless inventory flow and accuracy
  • Serve as a key liaison between warehouse execution and leadership regarding inventory performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency and inventory reliability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management
  • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role overseeing inventory systems or warehouse accuracy programs preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles (cycle counting, shrink control, FIFO/FEFO, SKU accuracy)
  • Working knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards (BRCGS, USDA, FDA, OSHA)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns in inventory discrepancies and implement solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence warehouse teams and cross-functional partners
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the warehouse floor
