Position Details:Title: Inventory Control AssociateDepartment: Inventory ControlReports to: Inventory Control SupervisorLocation: Hanson, KYJob Classification: OnsiteFLSA Status: Non-ExemptJob Band: Business SupportJob SummaryInventory Control Associates are responsible for monitoring inventory accuracy and reconciling discrepancies between physical counts and company Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Other responsibilities include efficient use of WMS to evaluate product inventories, measuring and weighing products, organizing products according to protocols, reporting inconsistent or damaged goods, and converting unsellable inventory into available product. Guided by his legacy and our mission-We serve and protect all hardworking people by building durable products-we remain dedicated to upholding these principles in every decision we make and every product we create.Associate ResponsibilitiesUtilize WMS effectively to conduct daily cycle counts, investigate errors/discrepancies, and cross referencing all data points for inventory integrity/order availabilityEffectively investigate and correct discrepancies found during cycle counts and adjust inventory in WMS when issues are resolvedDemonstrate a high level of system accuracyIdentify issues and provide solutions to road blocks, resulting in improvements to department processes and proceduresRecord and report all errors and discrepancies including internal process failures and external vendor complianceFunction as a support liaison to all departments in processing of current orders and improvement opportunitiesInspect, label, package, and process inventory from returns into active/sellable inventorySort and ensure returns inventory is assigned and transferred to correct warehouse designations (RCV vs 3PL)Responsible for the timely reporting of problems in the work area to appropriate personnel as well as maintaining 5S, housekeeping, safety, and preventative guidelinesEnsure each job performed is within set procedural inventory standards and conforms to all requirements of internal and external customers. Certified through formal observation and feedback process.Required EducationHigh school diploma or GEDRequired Skills & ExperienceApplicant must have good attention to detail and be able to work independentlyEffective time management and analytical/problem solving skillsEffective written/verbal skills, and using simple mathExperience with warehousing processes preferredSRT Certification recommendedFamiliarity with Microsoft Office, Warehouse Management Systems experience preferredPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsDistribution EnvironmentUnion and Non-Union EnvironmentAbility to work at heights up to 65 feetAbility to lift up to 65 pounds; job requires applicants to sit, stand, bend, reach, lift, and move about the facilitiesSafety requirements for the SRT equipment: 400 pound weight limitThis position has an On-Site location: Associate will work on-site for all work-related activities.Carhartt is a tobacco free workplace.
