Inventory Clerk - Job Description
Job Summary
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and supporting daily warehouse or stockroom operations. This role ensures that products are properly received, stored, tracked, and distributed while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, receipts, transfers, and adjustments
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage
- Label, organize, and store inventory in designated locations following company procedures
- Perform routine cycle counts and periodic full inventory audits to ensure data accuracy
- Identify discrepancies and investigate inventory variances
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages or replenishment needs
- Update inventory information in ERP or inventory management systems in a timely manner
- Process returns, damaged goods, and inventory adjustments in accordance with policies
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure product availability
- Prepare inventory reports and maintain documentation for audits and compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred
