Inventory Clerk / Administrative Assistant (Production Materials Focus)
Location: Erlanger, KY 41018
Pay rate: $21.00 - $22.00/hr
Work schedule: Full-Time | Standard Business Hours, Monday - Friday.
The Inventory Clerk / Administrative Assistant acts as a critical link between warehouse operations, procurement, and production planning. This position centers on researching, tracking, and resolving complex, material-related discrepancies and shortages that threaten active manufacturing schedules. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical problem-solving skills to conduct root-cause analyses on inventory variances with dependable administrative capabilities to maintain precise data integrity across internal corporate reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
Production Material Problem Resolution: Proactively investigate, document, and resolve immediate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and quality concerns that have the potential to disrupt or delay scheduled production workflows.
System Reporting & Gap Analysis: Monitor and review daily system-generated inventory reports to identify gaps in material availability, correct data imbalances, or isolate logistical delays stalling live production orders.
Supply Chain Tracking: Research overdue purchase orders, missing requisitions, and stuck inter-organizational material transfers to determine the root cause of supply delays and implement corrective measures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with production supervisors, procurement buyers, and warehouse staff to clear material flow bottlenecks and ensure all necessary items are available exactly when needed.
Inventory Reconciliation: Analyze physical inventory discrepancies and variances against system balances. Recommend appropriate adjustments, document corrective actions, and assist in executing structured cycle counts and comprehensive physical inventories.
Logistics & Material Analytics: Maintain clean, ongoing tracking metrics concerning material losses, volume adjustments, and general factory usage trends.
Core Office Administration: Handle day-to-day clerical office support, including processing operational documentation, organizing digital files, updating logistics systems, and facilitating communications across departments regarding material status updates.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
Inventory Control & Variance Analysis: Prior professional experience handling material tracking, cycle counting, or root-cause variance analysis within an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution framework.
Report Literacy: Comfort working with production reports and interpreting quantitative data to solve supply pipeline discrepancies.
Interpersonal Agility: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal warehouse crews, office executives, and external logistics partners.
Organizational Skills: High attention to detail with proven accuracy in data entry and basic administrative recordkeeping.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Operates in a split work environment that encompasses both a quiet corporate office setting and an active warehouse floor.
Requires the ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods, navigate safely throughout all sections of the industrial facility, and withstand typical warehouse elements (such as dust, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to stored materials).
Education & Experience
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, material planning, or warehouse administration preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Term: 6-Month Contract Assignment
Assignment Duration: 06/15/2026 to 12/14/2026
