    Lead the flow. Elevate the standard.

    Picture the start of your shift: you kick off a quick safety huddle, walk the floor to confirm 5S standards, align labor and equipment to the day’s shipping plan, and open your dashboard of KPIs. Orders are queued, receiving bays are clearing, and you’re coaching a new team lead while partnering with the Operations Manager to finalize two hiring decisions. By mid-shift, a Kaizen you launched is already cutting touches per order. Before close, inventory variances are resolved, carriers are on time, and your team leaves a cleaner, safer, more efficient warehouse than they found.

    What you’ll drive

    • End-to-end warehouse leadership: Safety, housekeeping, 5S/Lean, on-time customer delivery, production efficiency and effectiveness, cost control, inventory accuracy, shipping, receiving, employee development, and policy compliance.
    • People and performance: Provide clear direction to direct and indirect reports; hire and conduct performance reviews in partnership with the Operations Manager and HR; set quantitative goals aligned to Operations, UPM, and ONI strategic objectives; build development plans; coach through performance or behavior gaps.
    • Safety, Health & Environmental stewardship: Own OSHA and EPA compliance for warehouse activities; maintain a hazard-free, training-rich environment.
    • Continuous Improvement culture: Champion CI at every level; plan and execute 5S/Lean initiatives to maximize productivity and reduce waste.
    • Plan execution and metrics: Ensure weekly production and shipment schedules are met efficiently; track daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual KPIs and close performance gaps with targeted actions.
    • Cost discipline: Build and monitor cost-savings and cost-avoidance projects that deliver year-over-year reductions in operating expenses.
    • Inventory integrity: Safeguard inventory accuracy through controls, counts, and root-cause elimination.
    • Quality & ethics: Enforce ISO requirements and uphold the UPM and ONI Code of Conduct and Ethics.

    What you bring

    • Proven coaching and leadership capability with strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.
    • Decisive under pressure; strong organization, problem-solving, analysis, and interpretation skills.
    • Team-first mindset with results orientation; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Experience and education

    • Associate Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification required (or a defined path to certification).
    • Minimum 5 years of effective leadership experience.
    • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing, distribution, and/or warehouse operations.

    Additional competencies

    • Language: Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures; write routine reports and correspondence; present effectively to groups of customers or employees.
    • Mathematics: Add, subtract, multiply, divide; work with fractions/decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
    • Reasoning: Apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions; solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Supervisory responsibilities

    Direct/indirect team size depends on site. Executes supervisory duties in alignment with company policies and applicable laws, including training, planning/assigning/directing work, performance appraisal, and addressing complaints/resolving issues.
