Job Summary: The Interventional Vascular Specialist II precepts new staff and students. They should have intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment and troubleshooting. Job Duties: - Assists in more advanced procedures such as pulmonary thrombectomy, AAA, TEVAR, FEVAR. - Able to assist with complex procedures; including multiple wire exchanges and able to use long wires and OTW balloons. - Should be able to use specialty devices such as laser, penumbra, Inari and shockwave. - Circulates, monitors and scrubs all Interventional Vascular procedures. - Troubleshoots imaging equipment collaborating with biomedical engineers for service. - Participate in procedural charging. Maintains supply management. - Able to act quickly under emergency situations. - Able to discuss with physician plan of action and assist with any high-risk procedures. - Cross-trains as needed to support departmental needs. Understands and works with x-ray system, including panning table and recognizing different angles. - Manages access site including proper removal of sheath, assessment of hematoma and knowledge of hematoma management. - Understands concepts of radiation safety. - Knowledgeable in vascular anatomy and recognizing different types of lesions. - Basic knowledge of supply features and applications to procedure. - Knowledge and adherence to sterile technique. - Able to communicate effectively with team, patients, families and medical staff. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Education: Graduate of accredited school of radiologic OR cardiovascular technology. 2. Experience: 1 year experience as an Interventional Vascular Specialist, Interventional Radiology Technologist, or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist. 2. Certifications/Licensure: Registered as an ARRT-R (with VI or CV credential) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) is required.  The above statements are intended to describe the work being performed by people assigned to this job. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
