Our Interventional Radiologic Technologist Supervisor is responsible for technical and nursing administration and management of the Interventional Radiology Department. This should include the daily assignment of technical and nursing staff, management of the patient flow, ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to patient volume, monitoring accuracy of Kronos input and troubleshooting equipment failures.

  • Assists Director and Radiology Manager to ensure radiation safety guidelines are enforced throughout the department. Assist management to ensure that the interventional equipment is inspected and remains compliant with VDH standards.
  • Renders patent care in a professional and courteous manner. Monitors patient's condition and communicates with the appropriate caregivers as needed. 
  • Oversee the imaging quality and technical accuracy of your immediate staff. Ensure the verification process is completed in a timely manner and maintain technical quality standards. Print status report to ensure adequate turn around times for reports.
  • Ensures all Interventional Radiology protocols remain current. Educate and provide technical guidance to Interventional technologists, nurses and students with regards to procedure protocols. Maintains a working knowledge with respect to CPT coding.
  • Orders and maintains adequate supply levels. Resource management of supplies is within budget targets.
  • Demonstrates leadership and support of management initiatives in the performance of patient care and radiographic procedures and flow.
  • Assists Radiology Manager in completing and maintaining educational requirements for all Interventional Radiology an nursing staff including initial Competency Assessment.
  • Assures guidance, orientation and training of technical staff and nurses. Participates in the preparation of their annual evaluations. Facilitates compliance of all mandatory training and education for the immediate staff.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years experience as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist or Registered Nurse - Required. 
  • Experience as Interventional Technologist or Registered Nurse - Preferred
  • ARRT Certified (Cardiovascular/Interventional certification) - Preferred 
  • Licensed by the Virginia Department of Nursing - Required
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Training and experience in special procedures.
