.50 FTE Elementary Literacy and Math Intervention Specialist
The role of an Intervention Specialist is to develop, share, and deliver student centered interventions that effectively work to close achievement gaps in math and literacy and ensure that students are able to master the grade level standards. This includes co-planning universal instruction and tier two interventions, as well as planning and delivering tier three interventions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, system specialists and other interventionists.
Analyze student universal screener and progress monitoring data to make informed decisions. Stay engaged with district and building level data in order to ensure data driven decision making related to individual student needs.
Collaborate with district colleagues in a common role to maintain universal instruction practices including monitoring data to determine growth.
Coplan with general education teachers, including culturally relevant practices within tier one instruction.
Coplan tier two interventions with general education teachers.
Provide support in math and literacy within tier one universal instruction.
Work directly with students as assigned through the district's MLSS/RtI process.
Demonstrates extensive understanding of the critical concepts and components of EMLSS/RtI.
Assists in scheduling and assignment of students to interventions across multiple buildings. Share with building administration.
Demonstrate strong capacity and flexibility to contribute to solutions on behalf of students
Demonstrate leadership/positive influence within a system
Position Qualifications:
Valid WI 316 reading teacher license.
Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise.
Experience using and teaching best practices in instructional delivery.
Strong understanding of the WI RtI/EMLSS Framework.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
Strong capacity and flexibility to solve a given problem.
Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communication.
Strong technology background & skills required.
