  • Schedule: Monday - Friday with 1:4 weekend rotation

What You Will Do:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Internal Medicine Physician to join a well-respected practice while serving a high-need community.

  • Lead with Impact: Drive clinical excellence by assuming the patient panel of a respected, retiring physician, ensuring continuity of care for the Jennings County community.
  • Collaborative Care: Join an established team of 4 physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers in a supportive, "all-hands-on-deck" environment.
  • Mentorship: Enhance team capabilities by serving as a mentor to APPs within the practice.
  • Balanced Practice: Experience a mixed care setting with a standard M-F clinic schedule and minimal rounding requirements.
  • Call Structure: 1:4 weekend hospitalist rotation at a Critical Access Hospital; on-call requires one onsite evaluation before 10 am, then phone availability for the remainder of the shift.
  • Optimized Inpatient Flow: During your 1 in 4 weekend shift, benefit from a recently implemented APP hospitalist program that has significantly reduced physician hospital shift volume.
  • Diverse Patient Base: Provide comprehensive care to a patient population ranging from young adults (mid-20s) to geriatrics.
  • Stable Employment: Benefit from a secure Provider AMG Contract within a national healthcare leader.
  • Requirements: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE).
  • Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO) required.

 

About the Facility

Ascension St. Vincent Jennings is a Critical Access Hospital located in North Vernon, Indiana. The facility features 18 licensed beds and 4 swing beds, providing essential inpatient and outpatient surgical, diagnostic, and emergency services to the local community. As a Critical Access site, it serves as a vital healthcare hub for Jennings County with no ICU or pediatric inpatient requirements.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
