Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO)

Position Summary

The Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive medical care for adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, continuity of care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across clinical settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide primary and consultative medical care to adult patients
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and infectious conditions
  • Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and ongoing patient assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and preventive care plans
  • Provide outpatient clinic care and/or inpatient consultation services as applicable
  • Coordinate care with specialists and ancillary services
  • Participate in preventive care, health maintenance, and chronic disease management
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modification
  • Ensure safe transitions of care and appropriate follow-up
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
  • Supervise and educate residents, medical students, or advanced practice providers as applicable
  • Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
  • DEA registration or eligibility
