Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst supports the Internal Audit Departments Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) by evaluating conformance with IIA Global Internal Audit Standards, departmental policies and procedures, and professional practices. This position conducts workpaper peer reviews, quality assessments, methodology reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance audit quality and consistency.

Essential Functions

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily or make a request for reasonable accommodations as needed.

  • Perform ongoing QAIP monitoring and periodic assessments.
  • Assess conformance with Internal Audit Standards and departmental methodology.
  • Maintain and enhance QAIP, audit methodology, charter, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct independent peer reviews of audit engagements including planning documents, risk assessments, workpapers, testing, observations, and reports.
  • Track and report quality results, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support external quality assessments and regulatory reviews.
  • Monitor regulatory, industry, and IIA developments.
  • Develop, maintain, monitor, and report audit quality metrics.
  • Obtain and/or maintain Audit or Compliance certification and participate in continuing education.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, manage multiple projects and responsibilities, demonstrate efficiency and persistence, manage personal workloads and ensure audit deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Exercise curiosity and maintain professional skepticism, objectivity, and independence throughout audits and adhere to the code of ethics.
  • Complete 40 hours of ongoing training and/or CPEs annually

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in banking & financial services, accounting, finance, or business-related with minimal experience in audit or related quality assurance field.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using a computer and the ability to learn new software applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while meeting established deadlines
