Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Summer Intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Carrollton, TX. Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

Support the Manufacturing Engineering team in the design and implementation of new manufacturing processes

Assist with the development and maintenance of manufacturing process documentation

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to boost the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations

Conduct data analysis and develop recommendations for process improvement

Participate in cross-functional projects and provide support as needed

Perform engineering change processes as necessary to support existing products

Tests prototypes and standard products and write reports to document the results

Categorize a wide arrangement of existing parts

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management

Education and Experience

Currently in year 1 or 2 of a 4-year degree program in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related Engineering field

Strong technical and problem-solving skills

Ability to follow oral and written guidelines

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Organized and detail oriented

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent computer skills including MS Office and Google Suite

Strong commitment to respect, integrity, and accountability

Willingness to learn, takes initiative, and offers improvement ideas

Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office and a manufacturing environment. Required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend; talk and hear in person; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; repetitive motion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasionally may need to exert up to 30 pounds of force to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects.
