POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will be responsible for individual and team assignments supporting Manufacturing Engineering activities across fabrication, assembly, tooling, and production support functions. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will work with cross-functional teams to assist in developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes used in the production of aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies. This position provides technical and administrative engineering support to Manufacturing Engineers while gaining practical experience in manufacturing process development, production problem solving, tooling coordination, continuous improvement, and shop floor support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide technical and engineering administrative support to Manufacturing Engineers
  • Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of manufacturing plans, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Support production activities by assisting with manufacturing process troubleshooting and resolution of shop floor issues
  • Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, models, specifications, and manufacturing requirements
  • Support tooling, fixture, and work cell planning activities as required
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, cost, and schedule performance
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, Planning, Methods, and Operations teams
  • Assist with data collection, process observations, time studies, and analysis to support manufacturing improvements
  • Support root cause and corrective action activities related to production nonconformances, process issues, or manufacturing constraints
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of production metrics, reports, trackers, and other engineering documentation
  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles, standard work, and process optimization initiatives
  • Assist with coordination of manufacturing changes, process updates, and production readiness activities
  • Perform other related duties as required

Minimum Position Qualifications

is required.

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, methods engineering, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and management.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges, with a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with CAD models, Teamcenter, TC vis, NX and Lean Manufacturing Principles
