Job Summary:
The eCommerce Summer Intern will support the daily operations of GWH's online store while gaining practical experience in eCommerce, digital merchandising, and operations. This role provides exposure to product listing, inventory processes, photography, and online marketplace management. The intern will work under supervision and receive training to develop professional skills in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Learning Opportunities:
• Gain hands-on experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., ShopGoodwill, eBay)
• Learn product merchandising and online listing best practices
• Develop skills in digital photography and basic editing
• Understand inventory tracking and fulfillment processes
• Build professional skills including time management, teamwork, and communication
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in receiving and organizing donated items for online sale
• Support writing product descriptions and inputting item details into store systems
• Help photograph merchandise and ensure images meet quality standards
• Conduct basic research on comparable online listings to inform pricing and descriptions
• Assist with cleaning, organizing, and displaying merchandise
• Support inventory tracking and accuracy efforts
• Help prepare and process items for shipment
• Follow all safety procedures and organizational policies
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and feedback discussions
• Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned to support business needs

Minimum Job Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in high school, college, or recent graduate preferred
• Interest in eCommerce, retail, business, marketing, or related fields
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office; familiarity with online platforms a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage time and work in a structured environment

4. Zero photography errors

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
The ability to continuously stand/walk for the duration of a shift, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/kneel/reach above shoulders and climb a ladder. Able to lift up to 40 lbs. (fixture parts, cartons of product).
An indoor work environment with exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is usually moderate.
