Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service on intermodal trailers
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues
- Repair or replace brakes, suspension systems, tires, and other trailer components
- Complete welding and light fabrication work as needed
- Ensure all equipment meets DOT safety and compliance standards
- Accurately document maintenance and repair work
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient operations
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on experience as a trailer technician (intermodal or refrigerated equipment strongly preferred)
- Diesel mechanic background
- Familiarity with CAT or Cummins engines
- Experience using diagnostic tools and interpreting schematics/manuals
- Welding and fabrication skills
Certifications & Credentials (Plus, Not Required)
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal or Type II – High Pressure Refrigeration Equipment)
- ASE Certification in Heavy Truck and/or Trailer Systems
Schedule & Pay
- Schedule: Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays as needed)
- Start Time: 8:00 AM
- Shifts: 8–11 hours depending on workload
Pay Range:
- Experienced Technicians: $30–$35/hour (based on experience)
- Entry-Level Technicians: $22–$23/hour
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
