The Ephrata Area School District - Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of Intermediate School Assistant Principal for Grades 5 - 6 starting July 2026. The Assistant Principal position is part of the Act 93 agreement and is a 12-month position.

The Assistant Principal will assist the Principal for the overall leadership and administration of the building, and as such, assume responsibility for all aspects of the school program. As assigned, the assistant principal will use necessary leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student to his/her fullest potential.

Applicants that possess a background in curriculum, instruction, and assessment at the secondary level as well as the demonstrated ability to lead people and change will be preferred. Evidence of effective parent/student communications, problem-solving skills, technology proficiency and an interest in advancing to building leadership is also preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENT

Education: Master's Degree required

Certification: Administrative I/II Principal PK-12 required

Experience: Successful experience as a professional educator/administrator

Language Skills: Ability to evaluate, interpret and analyze; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Ability to maintain written records, and effectively present information to colleagues, students, parents, and administrators; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with tact and diplomacy

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts, math reasoning, and math logic

Reasoning Skills: Ability to understand and complete oral & written directions. Ability to organize self and others and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.

Other Skills & Abilities: Exhibit sound judgment; Ability to develop appropriate effective working relationships with department colleagues, school staff, students, parents, and the administration; demonstrate effective organizational and time-management skills

WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner.
  • Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.
  • Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.
  • Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook.

Other Requirements: Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.

Salary: Based upon experience
