Interim Plant Controller (CONTRACT)
Fully Onsite (5 days/week) - S. Fort Worth, TX 

One of Vaco’s manufacturing clients is looking for a strong hands-on Leader to start ASAP.  Company is acquisitive. They are looking for a process-focused Accountant that can bring ideas to the table, assist with process improvement, flag problems when they see an issue and stand alone when given projects. 

Compensation: $75-$80/hr

Key Responsibilities:
    • Financial Management & Reporting:
      • Prepare and oversee financial statements, including, but not limited to, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
      • Ensure compliance with GAAP, industry-specific financial regulations, and external party reporting requirements.
      • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
      • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making in a succinct and timely manner.
    • Cost Accounting & Inventory Management:
      • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to analyze product costs and profitability.
      • Oversee & analyze inventory valuation, cycle counts, spoilage, waste & yield, and standard costing methodologies to control costs
      • Identify cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements in production, including tracking overhead, labor costs, and material usage.
      • Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency in production and supply chain processes.
    • Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning:
      • Lead annual budget preparation and financial forecasting processes.
      • Analyze variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
      • Develop financial models to support strategic planning and capital investment decisions.
      • Monitor plant performance metrics and provide financial insights to optimize operations.
    • Internal Controls & Compliance:
      • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
      • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (state and federal), audits, and financial reporting requirements, including alcohol-related operational and excise tax filings.
      • Work with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory bodies.
      • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
    • Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
      • Manage working capital, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow optimization.
      • Optimize financial processes to improve cash conversion cycles.
      • Oversee banking relationships and financing arrangements.
    • Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
      • Supervise and develop accounting staff, including providing strategic direction for the accounting function and ensuring the team follows appropriate accounting standards and processes.
      • Partner with operations, supply chain, and production teams to align financial goals with manufacturing processes.
      • Support ERP system improvements and financial system enhancements.
      • Act as a financial advisor to plant management and senior leadership on key business decisions for the site.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Controllership Experience
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting 
  • Fixed asset module SAP experiece
  • Lease Accounting ASC 842 experience is required
  • Responds timely to responses, deadlines, works in a fast-paced and high growth environment
  • Major ERP system – SAP S4 Hana is preferred
