Interim HR Director
The Interim HR Director is a high-impact leadership role responsible for guiding a complex M&A spinout while ensuring seamless HR operations across two evolving entities. This Interim HR Director will operate as both a strategic advisor and hands-on executor,driving HR infrastructure, employee transitions, and system integration efforts.

The Interim HR Director will partner closely with executive leadership, influencing organizational design, HR processes, and long-term talent strategy during a pivotal growth phase. This role is ideal for a senior HR leader who thrives in dynamic, high-visibility environments.
Core Responsibilities
  • Lead M&A and spinout HR initiatives, including employee transfers, payroll and benefits structuring, and compliance (40%)
  • Oversee onboarding, workforce integration, and HRIS migration to a new platform (30%)
  • Design and optimize HR functions, policies, and processes post-spinout across two entities (20%)
  • Support day-to-day HR operations and leadership advisory needs (10%)
Additional responsibilities of the Interim HR Director include:
  • Serving as the primary HR partner to executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Implementing and integrating HRIS solutions while coordinating with payroll, PEOs, and vendors
  • Managing domestic and international workforce considerations
  • Advising on long-term HR organizational design and scaling strategies
Core Competencies & Qualifications
Required:
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including Director-level leadership
  • Proven experience leading HR through M&A, carve-outs, spinouts, or workforce transitions
  • Strong experience in startup or high-growth environments
  • Ability to operate strategically while executing hands-on HR work
  • Executive presence with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Experience with HRIS implementation and integration
Preferred:
  • Experience with modern HR platforms (Rippling strongly preferred)
  • Exposure to international payroll and multi-state workforce management
  • Background in early-stage or scaling organizations
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Flexible schedule aligned to project needs (approximately 20-30 hours/week)
