Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and results-driven Interim Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations at a skilled nursing facility in Gifford, Illinois. This role requires a strong clinical leader capable of ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing care delivery, and guiding nursing staff to maintain high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight of the nursing department
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
- Oversee clinical operations, staffing coordination, and patient care quality
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices
- Mentor and support nursing staff to enhance performance and team engagement
- Collaborate with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical protocols
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and maintain survey readiness
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Illinois or compact state)
- Previous experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing/LTC setting
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and improve operational processes
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance and survey preparedness
