Jobot is seeking an experienced Interim Corporate Accounting Manager on behalf of a confidential client in the midstream energy sector. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day corporate accounting operations, overseeing a small team of staff accountants, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness across AP/AR and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings deep midstream energy experience, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, public company environment.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a small team of corporate accountants, providing day-to-day oversight, direction, and mentorship
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP and MLP reporting standards
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements in a public company environment
Partner with upstream and downstream accounting teams, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and accuracy
Support external audit processes and respond to auditor inquiries as needed
Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function
Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and reporting as directed by senior leadership

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
Midstream oil and gas experience is required — candidates without midstream or broader energy sector accounting experience will not be considered
SAP proficiency is required — must be able to operate effectively in SAP from day one
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Experience in a public company or MLP structure is strongly preferred
Proven ability to manage and develop a team while maintaining hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting operations
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with senior leadership
