Jobot is seeking an experienced Interim Corporate Accounting Manager on behalf of a confidential client in the midstream energy sector. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day corporate accounting operations, overseeing a small team of staff accountants, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness across AP/AR and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings deep midstream energy experience, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, public company environment.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a small team of corporate accountants, providing day-to-day oversight, direction, and mentorship
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP and MLP reporting standards
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements in a public company environment
  • Partner with upstream and downstream accounting teams, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and accuracy
  • Support external audit processes and respond to auditor inquiries as needed
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and reporting as directed by senior leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Midstream oil and gas experience is required — candidates without midstream or broader energy sector accounting experience will not be considered
  • SAP proficiency is required — must be able to operate effectively in SAP from day one
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience in a public company or MLP structure is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team while maintaining hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting operations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with senior leadership
