We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Controller position with a Boston-based investment firm. The Interim Management Company Controller will support the finance team during a transition period. This individual will oversee the corporate accounting and financial operations of the management company while providing reporting and budgeting support to senior leadership. This is NOT a fund accounting role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly and quarterly financial reporting for the management company
- Ensure accounting practices comply with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process
- Monitor cash flow and treasury activities
- Supervise payroll, benefits, and accounts payable processes
- Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance efforts
- Provide financial updates and analysis to senior leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 10+ years of relevant management company accounting experience
- Relevant experience working for an asset management firm
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, and budgeting processes
- Strong systems skills
- Ability to operate in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
