Job Description

Interim Assistant Superintendent Term - July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027

The Interim Assistant Superintendent provides strategic leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning that enables equitable access and high-quality instruction for all learners.

Job Requirements include:

Massachusetts Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent license Master's degree Demonstrated knowledge and experience in PreK-8 curriculum, instruction, and assessment leadership Experience leading professional development and supporting educator growth Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills Ability to work effectively with administrators, staff, families, and community stakeholders

Responsibilities include:

Provide strategic leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning Ensure equitable access to instructional programs for all students Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of PreK-8 curriculum and instructional programs in partnership with the curriculum team Support principals and curriculum leaders in data-informed instructional improvements Serve as Title I Coordinator and oversee Student Opportunity Act initiatives Coordinate teacher induction and mentor programs and oversee the Title II grant Serve as the English Learner Department Director and oversee the Title III grant Plan, coordinate, and evaluate districtwide professional development and lead the Professional Development Committee Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment Prepare reports and presentations for the Superintendent, School Committee, staff, and families Review and approve homeschool applications and annual progress reports Supervise and evaluate the Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology team, the ELD department, and the METCO Director Attend School Committee meetings Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
