The right candidate leads with clarity and empathy, inspires others, and has a passion for solving problems at massive scale. You excel through innovation, creativity, and attention to detail. You enjoy great design debates and thrive on iterating based on customer feedback.

As an Interaction Designer on this team, you will support and work alongside other product designers across the full spectrum of the UX design process from discovery and research to concept development, wireframes, and high-fidelity mocks. In collaboration with business leaders, engineers, product managers, and other UX designers, you will work from defined requirements to pressure test ideas through tactical visual execution. To be successful, you must be a critical, inventive thinker with clear design chops, an excitement for understanding and using data, and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively.

Key job responsibilities

  • Craft end-to-end customer experiences for Prime Video, from sketches through functional prototypes.
  • Experience in bringing prototypes to life though, visual design, motion design, micro interactions and animation.
  • Leverage design systems across multiple devices and formats.
  • Solve customer problems through measurable improvements that drive discovery and engagement.
  • Partner with engineering and product to imagine, build and test prototypes that allow you to gather feedback on your ideas, and use that feedback to iterate and continuously improve.
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface and interaction specifications.
  • Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and project stakeholders for review and feedback.

A day in the life

You are a systems thinker who can envision and craft a full user flow. You obsess about the details and see your designs through to production, making sure that every pixel is perfect across every device. You are collaborative, and work well with a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, and data scientists. You have excellent communication skills, and can present and sell your design ideas to your partners and stakeholders. You put the customer at the center of your practice, and you use qualitative and quantitative data to guide your decisions.

About the team

Youll join a fun, cross-functional team who help each other develop and thrive. You will have a mentor and a manager that cares about you, your career, and your skills development and be expected to do the same for your team. Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
