Become the catalyst for safe, high‑quality manufacturing

Do you thrive at the intersection of safety, quality, and operations? In this role, you will champion an integrated QHSE program—protecting people, ensuring product integrity, and sustaining compliance. You’ll partner with Operations, HR, Maintenance, and Corporate teams to keep our site audit‑ready and our performance on an upward curve.

Your impact

Picture this: an OSHA recordable is prevented because you identified a hazard trend during a weekly Gemba walk and trained the crew on a new control. A customer audit arrives unannounced, yet your SQF system is crisp, documentation complete, and run‑order specifications clearly followed. A pest sighting is reported; your sanitation and pest control program triggers root cause analysis, swift mitigation, and verified effectiveness. That’s the standard you’ll set.

Core responsibilities

EHS, Safety & Regulatory

  • Design and maintain comprehensive site safety procedures and training.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses; implement and verify corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain OSHA logs and other required regulatory submissions.
  • Execute routine HSE audits and inspections across the plant.
  • Administer Workers’ Compensation claims in partnership with HR.
  • Facilitate the Employee Safety Committee to cultivate ownership.
  • Manage SDS documentation and plant security standards.
  • Coordinate external regulatory inspections and certification audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Quality, Food Safety & SQF

  • Own quality and food safety programs end‑to‑end, driving continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the SQF Practitioner; preserve SQF system integrity and certification readiness.
  • Ensure adherence to plant rules and procedures that underpin customer service, including:
    • Strict compliance with run‑order specifications for each product.
    • Execution of prerequisite programs consistent with the SQF Code for the Manufacture of Food Packaging and all food safety requirements.
    • Observance of all GMPs aligned with Food Safety Requirements.
  • Oversee sanitation and pest control programs to prevent contamination.
  • Conduct internal quality audits; secure inspection and verification records.
  • Support customer audits and resolve quality inquiries with timely data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Training, CI & Metrics

  • Deliver engaging training on safety, quality, and compliance topics.
  • Track and communicate key safety and quality metrics for accountability.
  • Lead RCCA investigations and drive process and continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide technical compliance support to all departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–7+ years of manufacturing experience focused on safety and/or quality compliance.
  • Experience with OSHA, SQF, and GMPs preferred.
  • Regulatory fluency, strong communication and training capability.
  • Analytical mindset; able to prioritize and deliver process improvements.

Work conditions

Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and industrial machinery. Expect frequent time on the plant floor.

Certification

  • OSHA 10‑Hour Certification (OSHA 10) preferred.
