Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to drive the development, integration, qualification, and production of advanced spaceflight hardware and mission systems. This individual will serve as the technical leader responsible for aligning engineering execution, program objectives, and customer requirements across the full product lifecycle.

The IPT Lead will oversee multidisciplinary teams spanning systems, electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, integration, test, supply chain, and quality functions to ensure successful delivery of spaceflight products from concept through launch readiness.

This role requires a strong combination of technical depth, engineering leadership, systems thinking, program execution, and customer engagement experience within highly regulated aerospace, defense, or space environments.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Program Execution

  • Lead cross-functional Integrated Product Teams responsible for the design, development, verification, qualification, and production of spacecraft subsystems and mission-critical hardware.
  • Own technical execution, schedule performance, risk mitigation, and cost objectives throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Establish and manage engineering priorities, ensuring alignment between customer requirements, technical performance, and business objectives.
  • Drive systems engineering activities, including requirements management, architecture development, interface definition, trade studies, verification planning, and validation execution.
  • Lead technical decision-making and design reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR, and production readiness reviews.
  • Ensure all products meet performance, reliability, safety, manufacturability, and launch-readiness requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate activities across electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, integration & test, quality, procurement, and program management organizations.
  • Serve as the primary engineering focal point for internal stakeholders, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Support supplier selection, technical evaluations, and subcontractor performance management.
  • Drive issue resolution across technical, schedule, supply chain, and manufacturing domains.

Business Development & Customer Engagement

  • Support proposal development efforts, including technical volumes, solution architectures, ROM estimates, risk assessments, and resource planning.
  • Contribute to white papers, RFIs, RFP responses, customer presentations, and technical strategy discussions.
  • Participate in customer reviews, technical interchange meetings, and program status briefings.

Team Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Mentor and develop engineers across multiple disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives that increase engineering efficiency, product quality, and program execution effectiveness.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and engineering best practices throughout the organization.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Merritt Island, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $84.00 - $91.00/hr.
