Position: Integrated Pre Kindergarten Teacher

Location: Nashoba Regional School District - Emerson

The part time Integrated Pre Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction aligned with the established curriculum for students. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support student learning and contribute to a positive school environment. Responsibilities also include participating in professional development opportunities and attending meetings as needed to support students, academic programs, and overall school initiatives.

Organizational Scope:

The Nashoba Regional School District is seeking an Integrated Pre Kindergarten Teacher to lead a classroom providing direct instruction to preschoolers with and without disabilities.

The Integrated Pre Kindergarten works alongside and collaborates with a strong team of teachers, therapists, and teaching assistants to provide high quality intervention and instruction. Ongoing support is provided by administration, BCBA, and others as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

• Screening and identifying children who may have disabilities.
• Coordinating special education evaluation procedures and acting as the liaison; Conducting diagnostic assessments and preparing related reports.
• Developing and writing Individualized Education Plans in conjunction with parents and other professionals.
• Attending special education Team meetings.
• Delivering instructional services and interventions individually, in a small group setting and/or the classroom in accordance with the student''s Individual Education Plan.
• Developing, adapting, and modifying curriculum materials for students with disabilities that correlate with regular education peers.
• Conferencing and communicating regularly with parents and other professionals on behalf of students with disabilities and typical learners.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• The omission of specific duties here does not exclude them from the position's responsibilities if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.

Job Requirements:

• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license Early Childhood, Special Education licensure.
• Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with diverse populations, excellent communication skills both orally and in written form.
• Experience with ABA methodologies, specifically the creation of programs and associated data collection.
• Knowledge of social-emotional-behavioral development in young children.
• Experience with a range of disabilities.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of all learners in the classroom.
• Understanding of Massachusetts Preschool Frameworks.
• Knowledge evidence-based and other best practices for instruction.
• Must be able to assist in the protection of students and school property, and assist in fire and other emergencies or emergency drills as required by law and School Committee policy.
• The ability to work onsite in district schools and buildings is an essential function of this job.

Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this role vary based on assignment and the age of students served. In general, the position involves the ability to move throughout the classroom and school environment, including standing and walking for extended periods on hard surfaces. The role may also require occasionally lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds, as well as bending, reaching, and repositioning as needed.

Work is primarily performed in a classroom setting and typically involves light physical activity. The environment includes regular interaction with students and staff, varying room temperatures, background noise, and frequent transitions or interruptions common in school settings. The position also requires the ability to use a computer and standard office equipment to support instruction and communication.

Terms of Employment, Evaluation of Performance, and Salary:

The Special Education Teacher is a Nashoba Regional School District Unit A position. Terms of employment, including evaluation and salary, are covered by the provisions of the Unit A collective bargaining agreement currently in effect.

Salary in accordance with the Unit A Salary Scale https://www.nrsd.net/page/nrsd-contracts. The minimum and maximum salary is based on the Bachelors level scale and notated at the prorated rate. Candidate review begins immediately.
