Insurance Verification Specialist
Location: Tarpon Springs, 34689 – This position is onsite
Pay: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour

Job description:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for scheduled clinic visits and outpatient procedures using payer portals and direct communication with insurance carriers.
- Review deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and coverage limitations to accurately determine patient financial responsibility and communicate expected out-of-pocket costs.
- Process insurance referrals and prior authorizations while ensuring all required documentation is obtained before scheduled services.
- Update and maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information within the electronic health record (EHR) system to support accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Collaborate with patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal departments to resolve coverage issues, ensure authorization requirements are met, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Requirements:
- Must understand medical insurance including deductibles
- Must have experience with verifying Medicare, Medicaid, and major commercial health insurance and secondary payers
- Experience with referrals and prior authorization
- Medical terminology and ICD-10
- Must be MS Office proficient including Excel
- High school diploma or equivalent
