* Bachelor’s degree required.
* 5–10+ years of commercial underwriting experience.
* Experience with franchise automobile, truck, boat dealership, or open lot insurance strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of property & casualty, excess & surplus, and general liability coverages.
* Strong broker and agency relationship management experience.
* Ability to evaluate and negotiate complex and non-standard risks.
* Strong analytical, pricing, and decision-making skills.
* Proven ability to manage a book of business and drive production goals.
* Underwrite and renew a caseload of franchised automobile, truck, boat, and dealership open lot accounts.
* Develop and maintain relationships with senior brokers and agency partners.
* Solicit new business and support growth of existing accounts.
* Underwrite dealers open lot risks, including comprehensive and collision coverage, false pretense, economic loss, weather reimbursement, and spot delivery coverage.
* Evaluate and negotiate non-standard risks to achieve profitable outcomes.
* Identify cross-selling opportunities across commercial lines.
* Ensure all underwriting decisions result in sound, profitable, and competitive business.
* Maintain strong agency relationships to support retention and new business development.
