Insurance Services Representative (Commission Processing) - Insurance

About the Position

The Insurance Services Representative (Commission Processing) supports the agency's insurance operations by managing commission processing, reconciliation, reporting, and communication with insurance carriers and agency partners. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records while providing exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Calculate and process insurance commissions, bonuses, and adjustments based on carrier agreements, policy premiums, and agent incentive programs. Ensure payments are processed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Review and reconcile commission statements, verify payments against expected amounts, process receipts, and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly commission reports for management, including revenue tracking, profitability reporting, and renewal reports as needed. Maintain organized and accurate documentation of commission activity.
  • Act as a liaison between the agency, producers, and insurance carriers to resolve payment issues, research missing commissions, and respond to commission-related inquiries.
  • Maintain confidential records and ensure all commission transactions follow regulatory requirements, carrier guidelines, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Utilize agency management and accounting systems to enter and maintain accurate data related to policies, renewals, cancellations, chargebacks, and commission activity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support agency operations and ensure timely resolution of commission-related questions and issues.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, along with at least one year of prior administrative experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with agents, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated integrity, dependability, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions within established guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.
