Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Billing & Financial Manager to oversee our billing and financial operations across multiple facilities. This individual will manage a department responsible for insurance billing, claims management, utilization review support, collections, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on—capable of optimizing processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all billing and reimbursement activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the billing and financial operations team, ensuring efficient and timely submission of insurance claims.
- Oversee all aspects of insurance billing, reimbursements, utilization tracking, and claims follow-up.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with clinical and admissions teams to ensure accurate documentation and verification of insurance benefits.
- Review financial statements, reconcile accounts, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing, collections, and denials.
- Ensure compliance with payer contracts, federal and state regulations, and industry best practices.
- Communicate regularly with executive leadership to report on department performance and financial trends.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare billing, insurance claims, and financial management—preferably within behavioral health or addiction treatment.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification, utilization management, and reimbursement processes.
- Proven experience managing teams and implementing process improvements.
- Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Excel; experience with EHR systems a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
