In addition the individual in this position should have some knowledge of school finance and government accounting practices to include knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles government accounting reporting standards the New Mexico Manual of Procedures for Public School Accounting and state and federal government laws and regulations in which school districts need to comply. Light lifting at times.Environmental Conditions The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Essential Job FunctionsReview inform and assist staff with all insurance information deductions supplemental insurances and retirement plans etc.Enter all deductions and changes to the District&rsquos software programs as well as the various benefit agenciesReconcile pay and file required reports for all benefit agencies monthly quarterly and annually as required by the agenciesReconcile monthly NMPSIA and insurance bills make appropriate adjustments andor refunds as necessary and remit payments to insurance companies timelyCompile and process information for all Workman&rsquos Comp Student Accident Forms PropertyLiability Loss forms FMLA ADA etc.Follow-up research and assist in resolving issues related to insurance claim as it pertains to the district&rsquos responsibilitiesEnsure records and transactions are maintained and processed in compliance with the Affordable Care ActMaintain and create organized record files covering all deductionsObtain collect and organize pertinent data as needed for report annual budget and audits.Maintain day-to-day routine functioning of the Insurance Office Respond professionally and offer solutions for routine correspondence as well as requests for informationEducate self on changing policies regulations and practices to keep the district in complianceAttend professional development sessions as it pertains to job functionsEnsure absolute confidentiality and security of District personnel insurance and benefit files enforcing limitations and structured utilization of such files by persons whose access is authorized only by the Superintendent andor DirectorAssist Human Resource and Finance staff with various functions to include special assignments in support of the district operationsFollow all EPS policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorPersonal AccountabilityDemonstrates reliability as evidenced by attendance records and punctuality.Properly notifies supervisor andor designee of absences or tardiness.Begins and completes work within the allotted time.Consistently appears in business attire appropriate to the work environment.Demonstrates skill in the use of office equipment.Protects the District&rsquos resources through appropriate and careful use of supplies and equipment.Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to aid in the prevention of muscle straininjury.EMPLOYMENT Upon an offer of employment pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1968 pass a background check and provide necessary documentation qualifications.
